A suspect wanted on two felony warrants brutally attacked and seriously injured an Oklahoma City police officer responding to a domestic call at an apartment.

An Oklahoma police officer was knocked unconscious and seriously injured when she was brutally attacked by a convicted felon during a call early Thursday.

The assault happened when Oklahoma City police responded to a domestic call at an apartment, KOCO-TV reports. When officers reached the scene, they found that the 26-year-old suspect—DeAngelo Wright—was wanted on two felony warrants for kidnapping and aggravated assault and battery.

Police searched for Wright and were able to locate after three attempts. That's when he violently attacked an officer and knocked her out.

Wright allegedly continued to beat the officer even after she had loss consciousness. The attack wasn't stopped until a bystander jumped on Wright, who then began assaulting the witness.

Wright fled the scene, and officers found him hours later, hiding nearby. He was charged on multiple counts and is being held on $10 million bond.

The injured officer was taken to the hospital, where she's recovering.
